He was my foster brother.
He swore to protect me.
He failed.
They all failed.

I’m an open box of passé photographs, snapped in chaste daylight, but filtered in sepia. I’m the past that he tried to forget, and he was the future I needed. When he left six years ago, I screamed for him every night. But then it all stopped. My screams were suddenly muffled by cruelty, and further coaxed by pain.

But he has come back. He’s not the cute big brother I had a furtive crush on, or the bad boy, rich brat that I hated to love.

He’s the ruthless vice president of Wolf Pack MC, and he doesn’t answer to Royce Kane anymore.

He answers to Sicko.

About the Author:

Amo Jones is a USA Today & Wall Street Journal Bestselling Author, totally winging this author thing (she’s probably doing it all wrong). She likes cake, loves wine, and her religion is magic (Slytherin). She’s a profound work-a-holic, but when she’s not writing, you can find her chilling with her kids & Husband at the nearest beach, with a cocktail in her hand.

New Zealand is not a state of Australia and rugby is the best sport ever played.

Genre: Adult, Contemporary, Dark Romance, MC Romance
Publication 2020
Source: eARC via Candi Kane PR
Rating: 4 Stars
Recommendation: Recommended for readers who can deal with triggering content, such as rape and violence and who are looking for dark, steamy and emotionally charged story.

My Thoughts

This was such a wild ride on a dark side. This story just made me deeply feel many different emotions.

This was full of twists, turns and secrets, however, I saw them all coming pretty much from the beginning (I had only one single surprise during the submarine scene), the rest not so much, but I still very much enjoyed this story. And the darkness was heartbreaking. Trigger warning for rape and violence.

There was also some steamy scenes, some banter, sweet moments and heart-shattering ones as well. It was an emotionally charged read that kept me emerged in this book from the beginning till the end.

Thanks for stopping by. And if you are looking for a dark MC romance, check this one out!

Happy reading,
Lady of Bookland
