Secrets. Lies. Deception.
It’s all part of his vendetta, and so am I. He stole me, used me as one of his pawns by forcing me into a marriage I wanted no part of. I had to sign my name on the dotted line, and now he owns me…body, mind, and soul.
That’s why I ran. I had to escape the monster whose touch corrupted me. Break free from the man who seduced me, the beast who gave me a taste of the darkness.
But now I crave it. I need it. I need him.
I’m his to play with…until I break.
Distraction. Addictive. Toxic.
Mila wasn’t supposed to be anything more than a signature, a beautiful secret, a wife with no voice. Instead, she became an addiction, a complication that could cost me everything—a price I wasn’t willing to pay…until she ran from me.
Now, the game has changed, and the stakes are much higher. She thinks she’s seen the worst of me, convinced I couldn’t be more vicious and cruel. But I’m about to prove her wrong because I’ll risk everything to get what I want.
Revenge…and my wife.
Saint brought his lips to my ear and traced his tongue along the curve, causing me to shiver. “Don’t. Ever. Run from me again.”
This time, there was no trickery or falsehoods hidden behind his words fortified by an unspoken threat. And he didn’t need to say anything else to make me understand how serious he was. I heard it loud and clear and glanced at him over my shoulder. “Don’t ever again make me feel like I’m nothing but a whore to you.” I turned around to face him, my skirt still bunched up around my waist. “I am your wife, and a Russo wife deserves the respect of her husband.”
He slanted a dark brow. “Respect is earned, not demanded.”
“And neither is marriage, yet you demanded that.”
The edge of his mouth curved slightly, a subtle hint of amusement. “If I keep you,” he traced a gentle finger down my jaw, “will you continue to fight me?”
I leaned my head to the side, deeper into his touch. “With every breath.”
Seconds slipped into moments as we stood there staring at each other as if the world around us no longer existed. I didn’t know what it was, but something shifted between us. The barrier that kept us apart was slowly starting to crumble, and I wasn’t sure whether it thrilled me or scared me. What would we find once the barrier was destroyed and nothing but dust?

Title: The Fall of Sin
Author: Bella J.
Series: Sins of Saint #2
Publication Year: 2020
Genres: Adult, Contemporary, Dark Romance
Source: eARC via Lady Amber’s PR
Rating: 3.5 Stars
Recommendation: Recommended for everyone who enjoys dark and twisted romance with morally questionable characters and actions. Only for mature readers (18+)
Saint was beyond attractive. He was like a flame in the darkness – burning with wrath and fury, refusing to be contained as it ravaged everyone and everything around it. And me? I was the moth, the creature seduced by its beauty, hypnotized by its glowing embers and flying right to the heart of the fire only to be burned to ash.
Sadly, this book didn’t excite and capture my attention the same way as the first book did. The Fall of Sin was just missing something as I felt disconnected from the characters. I simply didn’t feel the suspense, danger and fear, or the heat and chemistry, or the banter and excitement that this story offered. It was all there the action and suspense, romance and darkness, but I just didn’t really feel any of it.
“Nothing is as sweet as woman’s agony.”
So at the end the story was entertaining, but I just simply didn’t care enough about what was happening in the book to feel all the different emotions that I felt while reading the first book in this series. The romance was not sweet, it was dark and a bit unhealthy but intense and exciting as well.
“My path to hell has already been paved with sin. But you, Mila… you are the one sin I’ll indulge in until the flames engulf me.”
Another issue that I had was the length of the book, it just felt a bit too short and I would have preferred to have the next book just merged together with this one. I guess this should have been a duet and not trilogy.
“I’m the villain in this story, the devil in the world I’ve sucked you into. But somehow, somewhere, you also made me the husband who would do anythnig to protect his wife.”
However, the ending was intriguing, so I kind of want to know how Saint and Mila’s story will end. I wan’t to find out the secret that Saint is keeping from her. And I want to see their HEA.
“I have never felt this confused. Ever. First, he’s this total monster. Cruel. Brutal. Merciless. And I hated him.” I stared into open space. “But then-“
I looked up at Elena. “No. I think I have.”
Overall, I liked it but that was it. Let’s hope that the last book will deliver a punch to the stomach like the first book did.
Milana Torres was supposed to be nothing but a pawn, yet here she was – the beautiful face of a complication a man like me couldn’t afford. But right now, right this moment, it seemed I was willing to pay any price, sacrifice everything if it meant she’d stay mine.
