I’d never regretted meeting anyone quiet like I regretted meeting Kennedy Meyers.

Once upon a time she was mine and my sisters best friend.

I’d always loved her, and wanted her to be mine, that is until the night everything changed and my love morphed into pure hatred.

Now I’m a vile bastard with a chip on his shoulder. Cruel black hate is all I know. My only focus *ucking my way through Blackthorn’s elite women and partying.

Then she shows up. She’s different now, shy, quiet, but just as beautiful as she was the day she disappeared.

One look and my focus changes. I decide then that my time for revenge is now. No way does she get to enjoy herself. No, I’m going to make her life hell. Destroy her from the inside out.

I’m going to make her regret ever walking my way, because if it wasn’t for her…my sister would still be alive.

**This is a standalone DARK bully romance. This book contains scenes that may be triggering to some readers. This is not a YA romance novel and should be read by those only 18+ or older. **

My Thoughts

I’m going to be short with this review. I loved this book. It was dark and very hard to read because it not only broke but simply shredded my heart.

The hate I feel for her is all-consuming. It should terrify me. The things I’ve thought of doing to her should rattle me to the bones, but it doesn’t.

I cried, I cringed in actual physical pain, I felt like someone stabbed me in the heart and also punched me in the stomach uncountable times. It wasn’t just a dark romance story but an emotional turmoil.

I know Jackson hate me, but I hate myself far more than he ever will.

The story was told in dual POV – Kennedy and Jackson. I did root for them to be together, even it was hard to do so because their friendship just turned into twisted and unhealthy relationship. There was bullying, pain and secrets. They were two broken people who needed help. But at the end they needed each other and their love transcended all the wreckage. Jackson was a hard person to love or forgive because there was this one fateful moment where he did something quite unforgivable, but at the same time I did expect  for it to happen. Also I must admit that I actually did kind of blame him for the tragedy that struck them both.

She’s a temptation. So beautiful, perfect, but a tempting poison that will kill you if you take a sip.

There were a few twists that I did see coming, but that didn’t diminish my reading experience. This was such an emotional roller-coaster of a ride. Oh, Jackson and this story emotionally destroy me.

“I hate you, and I regret ever meeting you. I regret touching you. I regret everything between us,” he spits the words at me before turning around and walking away.

I can’t say I enjoyed reading this book or that I was entertained because this wasn’t that type of a story, as it was very dark book but with some sunshine as well. I was emotionally invested and it made me feel deeply, so it was heartfelt page turner of a book.

I don’t know if this is a one-time thing or something more. Right now, though, I’ll pretend it’s forever. That he is my forever.

Trigger warnings for self-harm, suicidal thoughts, sexual assault, depression, blood and violence and dark bully romance with a bit unhealthy relationship dynamics.
