They say success is the best revenge.
I say it isn’t enough.
I’ve spent the last twenty years building my empire, but I’ll never forget the gutters I had to crawl through to get here. Or the enemy who made it that way. Kevin Cryson, the man who destroyed my life. It isn’t enough to build my own empire if I can’t crush his.
Luckily, I’ve found his weak spot. The perfect lure in the form of a brown-eyed devil with chestnut hair and a deviant smile. The princess he never should’ve let leave the castle.
They say revenge makes people bitter.
I’ve never tasted anything so sweet.
**Julius is complete story with a guaranteed HEA and NO cliffhanger. It is set in the same world as the interconnected standalone series Darker Places, but the series is not necessary to read in order to enjoy Julius. This book is a dark romance, and thus contains dark subject matter. Reader discretion is advised.**

He’s the monster in my dreams, but he isn’t hiding under the bed. He’s turning on the light and showing me all the other creatures in my room. Dark and disgusting.
This novel was intoxicating, addictive, exhilarating, heartbreaking and truly dark with some suspense, danger, steam, and a bit of sweetness and twisted romance.
His touch is as cold as his gaze, and I yank my arm away before I get frostbite.
Julius was a cruel and mean A-hole, but there was also a sweeter and more caring side to him as well. Julius was the type of hero that we love to hate. There is darkness in him and so much pain that he lost himself in his need for revenge.
“Just because I’m going to lose doesn’t mean I have to let you win.”
Laney on the other-hand was stubborn, reckless, strong, fiery, but at the same time naive, sheltered and just a young girl who was only on the way to discovering who she truly was.
I thought I’d been afraid of him before. He can have this sinister look in his eyes that makes it impossible to judge what will happen next. He’s big, he’s cold, and he has a taste for pain, but even so, there was always this part of him that felt safe to me. No matter how afraid I was, part of me knew it would be okay.
That part of me is gone.
Their romance was beautifully twisted. For the most part of this story heir relationship was unhealthy but deeply emotional. They had chemistry and sparks flying all over the place. There was a big age gap (about 10 years) between them, which I always love in my romance reads. There was angst and heat in their interactions. There was intensity and heart-wrecking moments.
We have so many shouldn’t haves, there isn’t any room for pity.
I felt so many emotions while reading this captivating story. There were a few twists and turns. There was blood, there was fear, there was pain and then there was love. You will find several blood-chilling, scary and heartbreaking scenes, secrets coming to light, some heartwarming and funny moments, a few steamy hot times as well and so much more. Just the FEELS.
The way he looks at me melts me into a puddle on the forest floor. I never want to leave. Not from this forest and not from this moment. I want to stay here with my hands on his chest and his hand cupping my face for eternity.
What are your thoughts on the synopsis, teasers and quotes? Are you ready to join this darkly sweet romance of Julius and Layne?
