First Lines Fridays / Book Beginnings on Fridays – July 6, 2018

Dear book-lovers,
There are two similar Friday book memes, so I’m doing both of them here in one post, which basically means, that I’m sharing with you the first lines of the book that I’m currently reading. Book Beginnings on Fridays is hosted @ Rose City Reader – Share the first sentence of the book you are reading along with your thoughts and impressions. And First Lines Fridays @ Wandering Words – Pick a book, open to the first page and share a few lines without spoilers and without revealing what the book is, then reveal the book.

So here is the first lines from the book that I’m reading at the moment:

“Hey there, pupster”. I laugh as Morgan, the Rennick’s dog, races across the lawn and jumps up on my khaki pants.

I hope that this is going to be cute, sweet and swoony summer read. This YA contemporary romance arrived today at my doorstep, and I was lucky to finish the other book I was reading last night, so this was just perfect timing and I have been waiting to read this book for quite a long time. Finally, I have it and hope to enjoy this intriguing story. I talked about this book last week on my first Can’t Wait Wednesday post, so you can read more about it there or in Goodreads.

But let’s not keep you waiting any longer, so this first lines come from …

One Small Thing by Erin Watt 🙂

What book are you reading at the moment? Feel free to share the first lines of it and the name of the book in comments!

Happy reading,

    1. It wasn’t sickly sweet at all. One Small Thing was intense, at times heart-breaking but meaningful. Bit like a dark tunnel with a light of hope at the end. I really enjoyed this book and would recommend it to those who enjoy contemporary reads with a bit darker side to them 🙂
