Can’t-Wait Wednesday (July 4, 2018) – The Darkest Star by Jennifer L. Armentrout

Dear book-lovers,

Can’t-Wait Wednesday is a weekly meme hosted at Wishful Endings, to spotlight and discuss the books we’re excited about that we have yet to read. Generally they’re books that have yet to be released. It’s based on Waiting on Wednesday, hosted by Jill at Breaking the Spine.

At first when I sat down to write this post I thought about my number one most anticipated book of 2018Dance of Thieves by Mary E. Pearson, but as its publication date is still month away then I decided to still wait with it.  So I was about to write about Kiss of the Royal by Lindsey Duga. Yesterday, the 3rd of July, was this book’s publication date (its synopsis sounded interesting, so you can check it out on Goodreads) but by some accidental miracle I stumbled upon another book – The Darkest Star (Origin #1) by Jennifer L. Armentrout. And now I’m having a dilemma with my number one most anticipated book of 2018. Is The Darkest Star stealing number one spot from Dance of Thieves? Oh, this is hard decision, so I’ll maybe wait with it.

I finished re-reading the Lux series just last month. Oh, Lux is one of my all-time favourite series ever. It is everything that my heart desires – a hate to love trope, with steamy romance, a beautifully loyal friendship and sibling relationship, heart-breaking and heart-warming story full of action, danger and love, book loving MC and heart-stopping super-hot alien. Just blissful entertainment. I can’t wait for the movie finally to come out. It was announced already ages ago…and I haven’t heard any news on it for sooo long. When will I finally get my Obsidian movie??? Waiting is the only option here, but at least we get a chance to return to Lux world with the new Origin series. Yeei!!! If you haven’t read Lux series by Jennifer L. Armentrout yet then you must get your hands on all of the books right now and start reading them like yesterday already 😉

But have I lived under a stone or in deep forest that I found out about The Darkest Star just today? So, now it’s my duty to let everyone else, who has been the same clueless as I, to know that one of our favourite Origins – Luc is returning into our lives in October 30, 2018 🙂 Even though my favourite Origin was Archer, I’m still very excited to read Luc’s story. And I really hope to see Daemon, Katy, Dawson, Bethany, Dee and Archer again.

Expected publication date of the first book in Origin trilogy – The Darkest Star –  is October 30th 2018 by Tor Teen. Here is the synopsis from Goodreads:

the darkest starWhen seventeen-year-old Evie Dasher is caught up in a raid at a notorious club known as one of the few places where humans and the surviving Luxen can mingle freely, she meets Luc, an unnaturally beautiful guy she initially assumes is a Luxen…but he is in fact something much more powerful. Her growing attraction for Luc will lead her deeper and deeper into a world she’d only heard about, a world where everything she thought she knew will be turned on its head…

#1 New York Times, USA Today, and internationally bestselling author Jennifer L. Armentrout returns to the universe of the Lux in this brand new series, featuring beloved characters both new and old.

This synopsis doesn’t give much away but who needs more than a single fact that this is Luc’s story in the amazing Luxen universe, and a chance to meet some of our beloved characters. I just can’t wait to dwell back into this thrilling and exciting world.

What is the book that you are looking forward to see released? Are you also excited about The Darkest Star by Jennier L. Armentrout like I am? Feel free to share your Can’t Wait Wednesday post’s link in comments as well 🙂

Happy reading,
